The Monk-like existence of a Sunspot Artist

I really enjoyed this poetic article on this artist who lives and works in my backyard, albeit at 5,700 feet, drawing sunspots every day for the last 40 years, carrying on a tradition at Mt. Wilson that dates back to 1917.  But even older is the art of sunspot drawings themselves which were first done in 1128 by, fittingly enough, a monk in England.  Please enjoy.
